ADetection of the Integrated Sachs-Wolfe Effect
نویسنده
چکیده
We have detected statistically significant correlations between the cosmic microwave background and two tracers of large-scale structure, the HEAO1 A2 full sky hard X-ray map (Boldt, 1987) and the NVSS 1.4 GHz, nearly full sky radio galaxy survey (Condon et al., 1998). The level of correlations in these maps is consistent with that predicted for the integrated Sachs-Wolfe (ISW) effect in the context of a ΛCDM cosmological model and, therefore, provides independent evidence for a cosmological constant. A maximum likelihood fit to the amplitude of the ISW effect relative to the predicted value is 1.13± 0.35 (statistical error only).

The integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect and the SKA
An important probe of dark energy is the integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect, where cosmic microwave background anisotropies are generated at late times once the dark energy becomes important dynamically. This contribution briefly describes the effect and summarises the present observational evidence for it. A potential survey by the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) covering a large fraction of the sky c...

Integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect in the era of precision cosmology
Recent detections of the Integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect through the correlation of the cosmic microwave background temperature anisotropy with traces of large scale structure provided independent evidence for the expansion of the universe being dominated by something other than matter. Even with perfect data, statistical errors will limit the accuracy of such measurements to worse than 10%. On t...

We investigate the possibility of constraining Chaplygin dark energy models with current Integrated Sachs Wolfe effect data. In the case of a flat universe we found that generalized Chaplygin gas models must have an energy density such that Ωc > 0.55 and an equation of state w < −0.6 at 95% c.l.. We also investigate the recently proposed Silent Chaplygin models, constraining Ωc > 0.55 and w < −...
